AmCham Vietnam was originally established in 1967, and was re-established on March 10, 1994 as an informal business association, just one month after President Clinton lifted the trade embargo in February 1994. AmCham Vietnam became an Organization Member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1996, of APCAC in 1997, and, on September 19, 1998, AmCham Vietnam was officially licensed by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City under the provisions of The Degree of the Government Promulgating the Regulations on the Establishment of Foreign Business Association in Vietnam, Decree No. 8/1998/ND-CP, 22 Jan 98. The Saipan Chamber of Commerce started even before the political status of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) was defined in 1978. Towards the end of 1959, a group of entrepreneurial businessmen got together to form a loose association of businesses. Today, the Saipan Chamber of Commerce is the largest private business organization in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. With over 140 business members, the Chamber is an association aligned to make a difference in the Commonwealth community. |
