Although many Americans began their businesses here in l945, it wasn’t until 1953 that ACCO was founded, and a charter granted by the Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America. The Purpose of ACCO is to further the development of commerce The strength of the ACCO lies in its membership and its committees, which are designed to meet the growing needs and concerns of the American and Okinawan business community. Maintaining close ties with the U.S. Consulate General in Okinawa and the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo helps to support our efforts. Close ties to the Okinawan and Japanese governments, plus established contacts in various U.S. government agencies in Washington makes us a stronger organization.
